AFTER DARK 2018: Thank You for Our BIGGEST Year Yet!

For the past five years, After Dark has provided the perfect opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of a true gem in Jeffco; Outdoor Lab. Each year, After Dark has grown and the continued adoration for this program truly leaves us speechless. This past weekend was no exception. The energy we experienced was incredible and it was amazing to have the room filled with so much love, support and enthusiasm for Outdoor Lab. Because of YOU we officially had our biggest year yet! Thanks to your contributions, we were able to surpass last year’s numbers and raise more than $145,000 for our beloved program. This amazing contribution will not only support Outdoor Lab, but will also help fulfill the Youth Advisory Board’s vision of providing scholarships to our High School Leaders. Because of YOU, we’re helping shape future generations of our community.

We honestly can’t say THANK YOU enough to all our sponsors, volunteers, interns, vendors and those who attended to help make After Dark such a huge success. They say love leaves a legacy and because of you, the legacy of Outdoor Lab will continue for many generations to come. We couldn’t do it without you!

Youth Advisory Board Holds First Impact Event

After initially forming in March 2018, the Outdoor Lab Youth Advisory Board has been actively planning numerous projects guided by their mission to  “Empower… Before. During. After.” Outdoor Lab. This past Saturday, they held their first high school leader impact event geared toward effective resume building. They worked with BJ Snelling, an Assistant Director in EY’s Americas Talent Team who partners with leaders to hire top talent, in which they provided helpful tips to craft the perfect resume. Their passion for Outdoor Lab and making a positive impact in our community is both impressive and inspiring. We look forward to sharing the upcoming impact events they have in the works!

Save the Date: Saturday, May 4th the Youth Advisory Board is hosting their first High School Leader Appreciation BBQ. Stay tuned for more details!

NREL: A Partner to Outdoor Lab

Transforming the energy landscape through education is at the core of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) mission. Through the budding partnership with the Outdoor Lab Foundation, NREL has provided monetary support, photography services at both laboratory schools, and welcomed Outdoor Lab’s high school interns to NREL’s Education Center for a scientific communication workshop. As the partnership continues to grow, NREL is excited to tap into the power of our community’s energy potential. Visit the NREL community page to learn more.
