"Each moment I'm up here, I feel my impact. Outdoor Lab has given me a chance to mold the future leaders of this world into an army of passionate advocates for nature and kindness. Teaching will remain an intricate part of my life for all my future plans. I plan to attend the University of British Columbia Vancouver this fall to pursue ecology and evolution. I strive never to release my grip on the scientific adventure, so I plan to earn my Ph.D. and become a research ecologist."

"I grew up with forests and mountains as my playground, so appreciation for the environment has been instilled in me from a young age. Because of this and increasing threats to the earth, I am pursuing a career path to protect the natural world that is so special to me, although the path is somewhat unconventional. I will earn a degree in business or economics with the goal of becoming a consultant for corporate sustainability. I believe that it is the responsibility of all people, organizations, and businesses to be stewards of the planet we inhabit. The connection I felt to Outdoor Lab’s mission of stewardship and the growth I witnessed during my time there has made me immensely confident in my plans for the future because I have seen that people can learn to love, appreciate, and protect their environment."

"Outdoor Lab, and my teaching experience while at Outdoor Lab, changed my goals for my future career and demonstrated to me the importance of education. Teaching ecosystems at Outdoor Lab allowed me the chance to see why education is so important, especially regarding the environment and stewardship. When teaching my group about beetle kill, tree identification, and the flow of natural energy, I was able to share my passion with an excited audience and pass along the message of the importance of conservation for our planet and the animals relying on us to protect their homes. A career in conservation has been on my mind as long as I can remember, but thanks to Outdoor Lab, I now understand the importance of educating the next generation, and how they will ultimately influence the health of our planet and the futures of the many animals I treasure."
