We are excited to announce the Outdoor Lab Foundation has been awarded a $48,000 grant to support the historic preservation of seven buildings on the Windy Peak campus! You may recall a few months ago, we blogged about Windy Peak's History and status on the State Register of Historic Properties.
The grant will allow us to work with expert historic preservationists, architects, structural engineers, and civil engineers to craft a set of preservation plans for each building. This is the first step in a multi-year effort to restore the buildings and preserve the stories that each building tells. This project is paid for by a History Colorado - State Historical Fund grant.
Once complete, the plans will include a list of prioritized projects, schematic designs, architect's annotated drawings, structural notes, scopes of work anticipated for each building, and cost estimates to carry forward into future contracts. Please stay tuned for more information and updates on this awesome legacy project. |
