Avid 4 Adventure has partnered with Outdoor Lab for many years and keeps kids and families connected to both the Mount Evans and Windy Peak sites all summer long, and well after their 6th grade year. Perhaps most importantly, the camps that Avid has run over the past few years, have allowed many students - who missed out on Outdoor Lab due to Covid or other scheduling challenges - a chance to experience the campuses for the first time.
If you’re not familiar with Avid 4 Adventure, they are on a mission to get kids excited and empowered by outdoor adventure. They host many different types of outdoor experiences for youth – from 1st grade through high school. They offer day camps, sport-specific camps such as mountain biking or rafting, expedition backpacking camps, and much more. Their residential camps in Colorado are scheduled in coordination with Outdoor Lab and Avid uses both Mount Evans and Windy Peak to host young people, for up to two weeks at a time, all summer long.
The partnership supplies important resources to the program which ensures the campuses have the funding to pay for priority (or emergency) projects throughout the year. Notably, funds help pay for capacity building projects and intern stipends. Moreover, Avid has been a great partner in supporting efforts to renovate and restore parts of the campuses that have fallen into disrepair. A great example of this is their help paying for materials and supplies associated with our upcoming volunteer days at Mount Evans and Windy Peak.
Thank you Avid for the partnership!
