In-Kind

What is an In-Kind Donation?

An in-kind donation is the transfer of any contribution that isn't cash.

If you are interested in donating gear to Outdoor Lab, you can see our list of needs below.

Impact Students By Purchasing Or Donating Supplies

Over 5,000 students pass through our Outdoor Lab sites each year, and often students don't have access to or forget particular gear for their week-long mountain excursion. We strive to keep an extensive gear closet to make sure kids have everything they need. However, often we need to replace many of these items due to wear and tear. Moreover, the nature of some things, like sunscreen and underwear, requires us to keep refilling our stock. See below for our current list of needs.

At Outdoor Lab, students hike eight miles per week. Gear at Outdoor Lab is used by students every week and experiences heavy wear and tear. It is important to the Foundation that students have a warm, dry, and comfortable experience during their time in the mountains. Because of this, we ask that gear donations to the Foundation are either new or gently used. We at the Foundation appreciate your discernment when making a donation of this type.

We're always looking for high-quality and lightly used versions of the following items:

  • Waterproof winter gloves: Sizes youth large to adult 2XL
  • Waterproof hiking boots: Sizes 4.5 through 8
  • New underwear for girls: Sizes youth medium to adult medium
  • Sweatpants for girls: Sizes adult small to adult 2XL
  • New socks: Sizes adult small to extra-large
  • Waterproof jacket, poncho, raincoat: Sizes youth large to adult 2XL
  • Waterproof rainpants: Sizes youth large to adult 2XL
  • Mid-layer fleece or puffy jackets: Sizes youth large to adult 2XL
  • 32-ounce water bottles

  • Lightly used sleeping bags (under 10 years old)
  • Various hygiene products: Soap, shampoo, hairbrush, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, kleenex, chapstick
