Back to School... Back to School...

Back to school season is officially upon us and we’d like to extend a warm welcome to all returning staff and interns, as well as welcome some new faces to Mount Evans Outdoor Lab and Windy Peak Outdoor Lab! We can’t thank you enough for all you do to help students connect with nature, while also ensuring they're given innovative educational experiences. This year the Aspen tree will proudly represent Outdoor Lab, we can’t wait to see Jeffco kids back on the trails!

Generous Donors are the Heart and Soul of Outdoor Lab

We’re thrilled to share that because of a generous donor, Mount Evans and Windy Peak both have brand new outdoor maintenance machines that are crucial for the program. The sites will put these to good use as they’ll make a huge difference in helping maintain the beautiful and historic sites we know and love.

Outdoor Lab Foundation and Alameda Alumni Present Gracious Donation to Lakewood Elementary Schools

Outdoor Lab Foundation coordinated a fundraising event with the Alameda Class of 1968, with the goal of providing a way for their class to give back to the local community. Fun was had by all during the event, and there was friendly competition in seeing which elementary school they attended could raise the most money by the end of the reunion. The event drew a lot of excitement and was successful in raising $2,258 which will go directly toward funding Outdoor Lab tuition for Lakewood students in need.

Revised Mission and Vision

Outdoor Lab Foundation staff, board members and site staff participated in a work session to refresh the Outdoor Lab Foundation mission and vision. Be on the lookout for our 2017-18 Annual Report going out next week showcasing the full story. We are thrilled to announce our revised and refreshed mission and vision to people like YOU that make this program thrive daily.

Our Mission: Inspire community support and advocate for the Outdoor Lab Schools.

Our Vision: Enduring program, inspired students, cherished sites.

Thank you for continuing to support this amazing program, we are excited for what lies ahead! Learn more about the Foundation HERE.

In Memory

Honoring the late Robert H. Bennett (Bob). Mr. Bennett taught at Green Gables Elementary for 25 years, and Outdoor Lab was something he was very passionate about. Our thoughts are with Bob and his family during this time, and we thank them for their continued support of our beloved program.
