Lea Carroll

Windy Peak Intern

New or Returning Intern: New
Hometown: Littleton

Why did you want to be an Intern?
I wanted to be an intern to watch and help sixth graders grow in their individuality. These students are full of life and it is so enjoyable to by their side during the week.

What do you look most forward to during your internship?
I look most forward to make connections with sixth graders and helping them see their strengths. Also, I want to empower the students and have them ride home on the bus being around of themselves.

What skills do you hope to gain from this experience?
From this experience, I want to become more aware of those around me and to become more independent as an individual. I hope to find my passions through this experience that I can carry out throughout my life.

If you attended Outdoor Lab as a 6th grade student, where did you go and what was your favorite experience?
As a 6th grader, I went to Mount Evans and my favorite experience was Astronomy Night because it was so interesting to learn about the stars and the universe.

Did you serve as a High School Leader? If yes, where did you serve and what was your favorite experience?
I served as a High School Leader at Mount Evans and Windy Peak. At Mount Evans, my favorite experience was teaching my special interest class, which was Frisbee Golf. At Windy Peak, my favorite experience was connecting with the girls in my cabin and having fun with them throughout the week.

Do you have plans for after your Internship? If so, what are they?
After my internship, I plan to go to The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and hope to study abroad in Spain or Costa Rica.
