Mount Evans Intern

New or Returning Intern: Returning
Hometown: Littleton, CO

What was your most memorable experience as an intern in your first semester?
My most memorable experience as an intern my first semester was each time I told students to look out the view on the top of Biosphere. Their eyes would get big and huge smiles cross their faces as they got to see the beauty of what Outdoor Lab and Colorado has to offer. I think so many forget to stop and look around and I loved to see the awe when people did.

What was your biggest take-away from the experience so far?
I think my biggest take-away so far is the little things. The little things like when a student truly smiles, the beauty of when a leaf flies and hits you in the face, the happiness of sitting around with mugs as a family in the lodge. I appreciate and the biggest take-away is the little moments.

What have your learned about yourself?
I have learned that I cannot conquer all. I have learned through this program trust and what it means to be part of a group that loves and respects one another. I have learned about myself that I am happiest and find my inner peace in nature and when I am surrounded by people like the Mount Evans family.

What goals do you have for your 2nd semester interning?
My largest goals for my 2nd semester interning is to be able to support and challenge the new interns as they go on this journey; I hope to be a leader among them and help them reach their goals

Do you have plans for after your Internship? If so, what are they?
My plans for after the internship are to finish out high school and then become a United States Marine.
