New or Returning Intern: New
Hometown: Evergreen, CO
Why did you want to be an Intern?
After being a high school leader for just one week, I realized how much of an impact that Outdoor Lab had on 6th grade students. I wanted to be part of Outdoor Lab as more than just a high school leader to continue making an impact on the kids.
What do you most look forward to during your internship? What is your favorite part about being an intern?
My favorite part about being an intern is meeting so many different kids from all sorts of different backgrounds. It is amazing to see how these kids grow so much as a person in just five days.
What skills do you hope to gain or have gained from this experience?
I have gained many skills already as an intern. I have grown a lot as a leader here at Outdoor Lab. I have also learned how to communicate with so many different types of people from 6th graders to high school leaders as well as teachers. Being an intern has taught me the life skills that are not taught in school.
If you attended Outdoor Lab as a 6th grade student, where did you go and what was your favorite experience?
I attended Windy Peak as a 6th grader. My favorite experience was spending time in bunk with my friends and my high school leaders. I remember thinking that my high school leaders were the coolest people ever.
Did you serve as a High School Leader? If yes, where did you serve and what was your favorite experience?
I was a high school leader at Windy Peak. My favorite experience was teaching students about the biosphere and seeing how much they enjoyed it.
