Albina Bislimi

Windy Peak Intern

New or Returning Intern: New
Hometown: Littleton, CO

Why did you want to be an Intern?
I wanted to be an intern for the experience that doesn’t come to often while you get to spend time with kids and having an outdoor education while being able to teach others about the outdoors just seemed like something I needed to do.

What do you most look forward to this semester?
Watching how much I grow as a person and how much I am going to develop different skills.

What skills do you hope to gain from this experience?
I hope I can gain the skill of not having stage fright and being able to handle kids with all sorts of ages to help me with my career in the future.

If you attended Outdoor Lab as a 6th grader, where did you go and what was your favorite experience?
I attended Outdoor Lab as a 6th grade student and my favorite part was just getting to be away from home and hang out with my friends and making new friends from another school.

Did you serve as a High School Leader? If yes, where did you serve and what was your favorite experience?
I attended Windy Peak as a leader during September of 2015 and my favorite experience was this girl who was deaf and was in my biosphere class and it was her first time teaching by myself and she gave me her mic for her to hear me so I put her in front of the class and the whole time I was talking in the mic and was telling her jokes and of course no one else knew what was going on so they all thought we were crazy! But I gained so much love for kids even more from the experience it made me want to come back.

Do you have plans for after your internship? If so, what are they?
I do have plans after my internship and first things first is to go back and finish out my senior year, graduate, maybe take a year off to travel Europe and visit my family, then last but not least go to college and receive my neonatal nurse practitioners license.
